These terms and conditions apply to direct bookings made through the Guesthouse Stari Mayr website and to stays at the accommodation.
By submitting a booking, the guest confirms that they have read, understood, and accepted the applicable terms and conditions and privacy policy.
2. Booking
A booking is confirmed once the guest successfully completes the booking process and receives a booking confirmation by email.
The guest is responsible for ensuring that the information entered during the booking process is correct.
Special requests, such as early arrival, an extra bed, a baby cot, or other requests, are subject to availability and are only confirmed once expressly approved by Guesthouse Stari Mayr.
3. Prices and Breakfast
All prices are stated in EUR.
For direct bookings made through the website, breakfast is included in the accommodation price for all registered guests.
Tourist tax and promotional tax are not included in the base accommodation price and are charged separately.
Final room cleaning is included in the price.
4. Tourist and Promotional Tax
Tourist tax and promotional tax are charged in accordance with applicable legislation and the regulations of the Municipality of Kranj.
The current total amounts are:
- Full tax: EUR 2.50 per person per night
- 50% tax: EUR 1.25 per person per night
- Persons fully exempt by law: EUR 0
Children under the age of 7 are exempt from tourist tax.
Persons aged from 7 to 18 pay 50% of the tourist and promotional tax.
Any other statutory exemptions or reductions are subject to the regulations applicable at the time.
5. Rate Types
Standard Rate
The Standard Rate includes free cancellation up to 7 days before the scheduled arrival date.
A valid payment card is required at the time of booking as a guarantee, but the booking amount is not charged at the time of booking.
The guest pays for the booking at the accommodation.
If the guest cancels less than 7 days before arrival or fails to arrive, 100% of the booking value will be charged.
Flexible Rate
The Flexible Rate is 10% higher than the Standard Rate.
Free cancellation is available up to 3 days before the scheduled arrival date.
A valid payment card is required at the time of booking as a guarantee, but the amount is not charged at the time of booking.
The guest pays for the booking at the accommodation.
If the guest cancels less than 3 days before arrival or fails to arrive, 100% of the booking value will be charged.
Non-Refundable Rate
The Non-Refundable Rate is 10% lower than the Standard Rate.
The full booking amount is paid at the time of booking.
Payment is non-refundable. Free cancellation or a refund is not available unless required by applicable law or unless Guesthouse Stari Mayr exceptionally decides otherwise.
6. Payments
Online payments and payment card guarantees are processed through the secure Stripe payment system or another payment provider displayed during the booking process.
For Standard and Flexible bookings, the card is used as a booking guarantee.
For Non-Refundable bookings, 100% of the booking value is charged at the time of booking.
Any outstanding charges must be settled no later than before the guest’s departure.
7. Coupons and Promotional Codes
Promotional codes may be used subject to the conditions displayed during the booking process.
The DIRECT10 code provides a 10% discount on direct bookings made through the website and may be used with the Standard, Flexible, and Non-Refundable rates, provided that the code is active at the time of booking.
8. Children
Children may stay without an additional accommodation charge if they use the existing beds in the room and the permitted occupancy of the room is not exceeded.
Breakfast is also included for children.
Tourist tax is charged according to age and the applicable statutory exemptions.
9. Baby Cot and Extra Bed
A baby cot is available for EUR 10 per night.
An extra bed is available for EUR 15 per night.
A maximum of one extra bed may be placed in each room.
An extra bed may be available in all rooms, but is always subject to actual occupancy, availability, and the permitted capacity of the room.
Baby cots and extra beds should preferably be requested in advance.
10. Pets
Pets are allowed by prior arrangement.
The surcharge is EUR 10 per pet per night.
The guest is responsible for any damage caused by their pet and must ensure that the animal does not disturb other guests.
11. Check-in
Standard check-in is available from 14:00 onwards.
Early check-in is free of charge but is only available subject to availability and prior confirmation by Guesthouse Stari Mayr.
Guesthouse Stari Mayr uses a self check-in system. Before arrival, the guest receives the necessary instructions and a PIN or access code for entering the property and collecting the key from the key box.
The guest is responsible for completing the required guest registration procedure before arrival and for providing the information required by Slovenian law.
12. Check-out
Standard check-out is by 11:00.
Late check-out may be available until a maximum of 12:30 for an additional charge of EUR 15 per room.
Late check-out is always subject to availability and must be confirmed in advance.
13. Parking
Guesthouse Stari Mayr does not provide a guaranteed private parking space for every booking.
Public parking facilities are available near the accommodation. Parking space reservations are not required.
Prices, conditions, and paid parking hours are determined by the parking operators or the Municipality of Kranj and may change.
Detailed and up-to-date information regarding access and parking is provided to the guest in the arrival information.
Vehicles and any items left inside them are parked in public parking areas at the guest’s own risk.
14. Quiet Hours and Guest Conduct
Quiet hours apply between 22:00 and 08:00.
Guests must respect other guests, staff, and residents in the surrounding area.
Parties, larger events, and activities that cause excessive noise or disturb other guests are not permitted without prior approval from the accommodation.
In the event of a serious or repeated breach of the house rules, Guesthouse Stari Mayr may require the guest to leave the accommodation without refunding amounts already paid, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
15. Smoking
Smoking is prohibited in all rooms and indoor common areas.
The prohibition also applies to electronic cigarettes and other products or devices that produce smoke or vapour.
In the event of a violation, the guest will be charged EUR 100 for additional cleaning.
16. Damage to the Room or Equipment
The guest is responsible for any damage caused during the stay by the guest, persons included in their booking, or their pet.
If the damage can reasonably be repaired, the actual repair costs will be charged.
If an item cannot be adequately repaired, the guest is required to cover the cost of replacing it or purchasing new comparable equipment.
Guesthouse Stari Mayr may also claim reimbursement of other direct and demonstrable costs resulting from the damage caused.
17. Early Departure
If the guest chooses to check out before the scheduled departure date, unused nights remain payable and a refund for the remaining part of the booking is not guaranteed.
Guesthouse Stari Mayr may, in exceptional circumstances and at its own discretion, approve a different arrangement.
18. Force Majeure
Guesthouse Stari Mayr is not responsible for delays, cancellations, or an inability to provide accommodation due to circumstances reasonably beyond its control, including natural disasters, extreme weather conditions, restrictions imposed by public authorities, epidemics, major infrastructure failures, or similar extraordinary events.
In the event of force majeure, each case will be considered individually in accordance with applicable Slovenian law and the specific circumstances.
Where possible, Guesthouse Stari Mayr may offer a change of dates, credit for a future stay, or another appropriate solution.
19. Guesthouse Stari Mayr’s Right to Cancel a Booking
Guesthouse Stari Mayr may exceptionally cancel a booking, particularly in the following circumstances:
- Unsuccessful payment for a Non-Refundable booking
- Unsuccessful or invalid payment card guarantee
- False or misleading information provided by the guest
- An obvious technical error in the booking or displayed price
- An unexpected fault or damage to the room that makes safe accommodation impossible
- Force majeure
- Fraud or reasonable suspicion of misuse of the booking system
- A serious or repeated breach of the house rules
If the cancellation is caused by circumstances attributable to the accommodation rather than the actions of the guest, any payment already received will be refunded or, subject to agreement with the guest, a suitable alternative will be offered.

During the booking process, we may process the following personal data in particular:
- First and last name
- Email address
- Telephone number
- Country of residence
- Booking information
- Information about selected services
- Payment status
- Information required for the statutory registration of guests
We process personal data for the performance of the booking and contractual relationship, communication with the guest, payment processing, compliance with legal obligations, guest registration, and the protection of our legitimate interests.
Personal data may be disclosed to contracted processors where necessary for the provision of services, for example to the booking system provider, channel manager provider, website hosting provider, Stripe or another payment service provider, accounting service providers, and other contractors that process data on our behalf.
We may also disclose personal data to competent public authorities where required by law.
Personal data is retained only for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it is processed or for as long as required by statutory retention periods.
In accordance with applicable law, an individual may request access to their personal data, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, data portability, or may object to processing where the relevant legal conditions are met.
If processing is based on consent, the individual may withdraw that consent at any time.

21. Changes to the Terms and Conditions
Guesthouse Stari Mayr may amend these terms and conditions from time to time due to changes in legislation, prices, services, or business operations.
As a general rule, each booking is subject to the terms and conditions that were published and accepted at the time the booking was made, unless otherwise required by law.
22. Governing Law
The contractual relationship and these terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Slovenia.
The parties will seek to resolve any disputes amicably in the first instance. If an amicable resolution cannot be reached, jurisdiction will be determined in accordance with the applicable laws of the Republic of Slovenia.
